Russell Miller - Varsity Head Coach

Coach Miller is in his eighteenth year of coaching, his third year at Georgetown High School and his eleventh year as a head coach.

He comes to Georgetown High School after spending four years as the head coach at Frisco Centennial High School, where he was named District 9-4A Coach of the Year. Prior to Centennial he was the head coach at Manor High School, where he led them to three district titles in four years and qualified his teams for the play-offs three of those years.  He also led them to two straight regional tournament appearances.  He has been named Central Texas Coach of the Year and District 24-3A & 19-3A Coach of the Year.

Coach Miller is a graduate of Abernathy High School.  He attended South Plains Junior College before graduating from West Texas A & M with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in History.

Family:  Wife, Sherry Miller, two step children,  Celeste Breaux, Ross Breaux and one Grandson Tysan Breaux.

Paul Lambert - Varsity Assistant/Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Lambert attended the University of Texas at Austin and San Jacinto College before transferring to Stephen F. Austin State University. There he received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Mathematics in 1999.

His thirteen year career includes stints as an assistant coach at Burnet High School, Manor High School, and Wheatley High School in Houston. In the summer of 2009, Coach Lambert left his position as head boys basketball coach at Robinson High School to join the staff at Georgetown.

Currently, Coach Lambert lives in Austin with his wife, Katy and his newborn daughter, Luisa. He teaches Geometry and works for the Eagle basketball program as the Varsity assistant and Junior Varsity coach.

Nathaniel Funk - Freshman Coach

Coach Funk attended the University of Texas at Austin before transferring to Saint Edward’s University. There he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Marketing in 2004.  After a period in the business world, he returned to his passion and began his coaching career in 2007 after receiving his alternative certification from the TeachQuest program.

Coach Funk is in his fifth year of coaching, having coached at Gonzales High School for three years before making the move to Georgetown last year. A graduate of Bowie High School in 2000, Coach Funk is excited to return to the Austin area.  He teaches English and works for the Eagle basketball program as the Freshmen coach and Varsity assistant.

Steve Vicars - Freshman Coach

Coach Vicars attended the University of Texas at Austin.  He is in his 29thyear of coaching.  He has coached in Georgetown ISD for 7 years.  He has also coached in Shiner, Gonzalez, La Grange, Austin ISD, Kerrville, Round Rock (Westwood), Leander ISD, and Van Vleck (As the AD Head Football Coach). 

He teaches Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) and coaches’ varsity football and basketball.
