David Canfield

Coach Canfield attended Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA where he played basketball for two years.  He transferred and finished his college years at Howerd Payne University in Brownwood, TX, and received a Bachelor of Science in Business.  While at Howard Payne University, he played for two years as part of the winning TIAA Conference championship team.  Both years his team played in the NAIA National Tournament.  Coach Canfield was selected as Captain of the team during his senior season.

He started his coaching career as a Graduate Assistant at Howard Payne University. In 1999, he spent one year coaching at Nacogdoches High School. He coached at Second Baptist School in Houston from 2000-2008, serving as head coach for six years. It was during this time that the Second Baptist team made it to the TAPPS 5A state tournament Final Four 3 times with one of those attempts culminating in the State championship game. Coach Canfield served as the lead assistant at Lake Travis High School. He was honored in 2011 as the Assistant Coach of the Year by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Coach Canfield has been married 18 years to his beautiful wife Ashley. They have six boys: Casey, 17; Brayden, 15; Kai, 12; Tate, 10; Jude, 7; and Finn, 3.

Bradley Washington

Coach Washington. is entering his 7th year as an educator and coach.  He has had coaching stints at Quitman High School, Ellison High School, Waco Midway High School and Leander High School.  This is his first year at Georgetown High School.  His wife Marissa is an athletic trainer at East View High School.  They have a 2 year old son named Jeremiah and a newborn baby girl named Ryan.

 

Kyle Gandy

Varsity Assistant/Freshman Coach

Coach Gandy is entering his 32nd year of teaching and coaching in Texas high schools.  He attended Lousiana Tech University from 1980 - 1985 and played football for the Bulldogs.  Coach Gandy earned his MEd from The University of North Texas in 1990.

He started his coaching career at Highland Park High School in 1985 and has coached at San Angelo, Angleton, Baytown and Sprintown prior to coming to Georgetown in 2005.

Coach Gandy has been married to Tamara for 33 years and she teaches math at Forbes Middle School.  Their son Ryan is a Major in the USAF and their daughter Mackenzie and Son in Law Ryan reside in Dallas.

 

Scott Dunavant

Varsity Assistant/Freshman Coach

Coach Dunavant is in his 7th year of teaching and his first year at Georgetown High School. He earned his BA in Business from the University of North Texas and his MA in Criminal Justice from Arkansas State University. He has previous experience coaching at Austin College, Southern Arkansas University, Arkansas State University, Sachse High School, and Vandergrift High School.
